A Boy, A Ball, A Smile

Over the last few months I have been preoccupied with many things, most of which I should have not bothered. June is a month of reflection, training and rebooting my system. Today is going to be a great day!

On my run this morning, thinking about things that basically waste my time, I saw a father and son, (about 4 yrs old) leaving their apartment building. As I ran up to them I looked down and noticed the boy had a baseball in one hand and a baseball glove on the other. He looked me in the eye, and I noticed, these big wide open blue eyes, they were clear and full of joy,  plus a massive smile! I immediately realized how great things are and if you don’t think about the negative! You will always be smiling.

As I approached the Hoboken High School I looked at every student walking to school, there were no baseballs, no baseball gloves and very few smiles, they all had their heads buried in their phones while walking.

I don’t watch the news, I am putting my phone down more often and I am walking a lot more, noticing how beautiful things are.

Have an amazing day,

Mike
