Owning it!

If only I knew how to take the first step?

I hear this all the time! Maybe not those exact words but everyone has a goal and we all know what we need to do to reach that goal but most never “Own It” and take the first step. For many the first step means giving up the things we are comfortable with and or makes us feel good, so we think. Then after taking the steps to towards what we truly would like to see happen it dawns on us that we never really needed the things we thought were must haves.

Meet my cousin, he turned 40 this year and he and his family have endured some pretty tough life challenges. When we got together July 14th, the start of our family vacation, we chatted about what was really important to him and what was needed to happen to keep him from self destructing. He told me his plan and I shared my thoughts and what I thought would be a good plan! 5 weeks later I see someone who has owned it and is truly  dedicated to leading by example for his family! Weight loss, clarity and a peace of mind have really made the difference for him! I am excited to be part of his journey!

So the months leading up to my 40th birthday I was really looking, examining and questioning my prior 40 years and where was the next 40 (if there is even going to be another 40) years of my life going to be like?

Truthfully I was scared I wasn’t going to live to be there for my kids, watch my boys grow and dance with my daughter at her wedding. This really scared the shit out of me.

Things happen for a reason, right? The night of my 40th birthday I was given an opportunity professionally that would change my life and my family. The very next night I happen to meet up with my cousin Mike and made me open my eyes, question myself for real and OWN my responsibilities.

For the past 4 weeks I’ve made some changes in my life where I’m seeing results both physically but also mentally. I hope I can carry these on and make all those things I was scared of not making two months ago a reality.
