The Irony is that the person who asked me this question is one of the two people that I can honestly say altered the course of my life.
The goal is not to use your parents or your immediate family because they will always influence how you make decisions plus influence the direction of your journey.
Think about when changes were made and why you made those changes. Next think about how those changes effected the direction of your journey and where you ended up.
For me there are two friends of mine that I met when I opened my warehouse gym in Orlando. They had all the opportunities to train at any other amazing training facility but for some reason traveling to the Winter Garden warehouse location, where laps in the parking lot opened the sense of smell to tires, oil and garbage bins, seemed to make their day. It may have been the post workout meetings at Chick Filet that was the real hook, either way my our friendship grew and it took my family and I to the Bahamas where a new chapter had begun for Denise, myself and our family.
The greatest part of my friendship with the two is the fact that in good or bad times I know they always had my back and I theirs! Over the years they have been there for for my family as well, it could be internships for the kids or mock interviews to get them ready for the real world, either way to this day they definitely helped change the direction of my life as it pertained to work and personal well being. I am lucky to have met the pair and even luckier to keep in contact atleast once a month.
Think about who it was that made the difference in your life and take the time to reach out and let them know, if they don’t already know.
